"Je ne suis pas venu parce que mon fils est malade. I didn't come because my son is sick. "
I have a doubt in this sentence from the previous page.
Wouldn't it be better to use "mon fils etait malade" instead of "mon fils est malade"? As the time period being referred to is the past, wouldn't imparfait be a better form of verb to use?

What are some French expressions in a sentence which tell which tense to use?
what are some expressions in french which tell you which tense to use in the sentence... like (ce matin, ce dimanche, aujourd'hui---- for present)

i need a list for all tenses plz!
* Présent - Present

* Passé composé - Present perfect
* Plus-que-parfait - Past perfect
* Passé antérieur - Past anterior
* Futur - Future

I always seem to get confused with the male & female of every item when spoken in French. Is there an easy way not to get confused? Thank you!

According to me, the funny thing about Learning French is that I just do not understand it and then I cannot learn it. I have tried so hard but it just does not enter my mind. Is there any easy way to learn it? Would appreciate it.
