i think the sum is wrong because they have given bulb is in series ...but wid what???

Sorry guyz....I realize that the question is wrong

Here is one sum of the same type which is taken from the question bank

An electric bulb rated 100W and 200V are connected in

1. Series with another electric bulb rated 100W and 220V

2. Parallel with another electric bulb rated 25W and 220 V

It is connected to a 220 V supply.Calculate the total electric current in the circuit in both cases.


Just tell me what you would take the voltage of the 1st bulb in both cases.

i think u have to find the resistance of each bulb add it up and then u find the current int he circuit

i think Q is wrong agen
since in series the current is same
but if u calculate de current in both bulbs its diff
and V1+V2 shud equal to total V
but total v is 220V but if u add it it comes 420V
and dunt u think dat de voltage of an appliance shud be equal to its source voltage?

and in parallel V is same for each connected thing
but over here its 220V and 200V
