the total internal frequency = 51
i.e, 6+7+y+15+10+x=51
=>38+x+y=51--------------------------------(i)

now,
it is given that mode=55
therefore, modal class =45-60
l = 45
h=15
f1=15
f0=y
f2=10

solving,

mode=l+(f1-f0/2f1-f0-f2)h,we get

y=5

substituting d value of y in eq. (i)we get
x=8

hence,
x=8 and y=5
