Co II is stable ..............due to CFSE which more than just compensates for 3rd ionisation enthalpy.......
(((watz CFSE???)))

........is it coz of the small size .....

consequences...
1..similarity betw 2nd and 3rd series.
2..La (OH3) is a stronger base than Lu(OH3)

CFSE-crystal field stabilising energy
2. it forms interstitial compounds coz d-elements hav a lot of interstitial spaces in thm.
3.consequence is actually the similarity n size f te 4d n 5d...which s the same thng, but jst 2 make t more clear
