ncert textbook

i am a student of class xii comm. i wanted to know if ncert textbook is sufficient for preparing for the AISSCE 2009.I am asking this because in the recent ncert textbooks,many topics are not relevant to the new syllabus given by the cbse board for the year 2008-09.also,many topics are there which are given in the cbse syllabus but are not given in the ncert textbook.for your information i am from the cbse board.
