    1. He walked as though he was slightly lame.

    2. He walked as though he were slightly lame.

Please tell me which sentence is correct.

first one is correct.
just keep in mind that [url]was[/url] is singular n [url]were[/url] s plural.
eg-
he was standing there.
they were standing there.
nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced,
even a proverb is not a proverb to us until our life has illustrated it.

First sentence is correct..according to rules of tenses there must be was with singular and were with plural...
