CBSE Supplementary Examination Rules For Class XI

What are the Rules of promotion of XI class students of CBSE affiliated schools, is there a detaining policy from CBSE for those students who fail in 2 subjects in XI , I want to know does CBSE instructed the affiliated schools to detained the students on these conditions and not allowing the students to appear in the supplementary examination in two subjects , please send in your comments and views on this subject.

Minimum pass marks has to be obtained in each subject as well as certain percentage in aggreegate is must.
